Wandance (Japanese: ワンダンス Hepburn: Wandansu, lit. One Dance) is a Japanese manga series in the romance and dance genre, written and illustrated by Coffee. It made its official debut in the pages of Monthly Afternoon (月刊アフタヌーン Gekkan Afutanūn) on January 17, 2019.

Premise[]

The story revolves around a shy high school student named Kaboku Kotani who struggles with a stutter but finds confidence and self-expression through dance. He becomes inspired after seeing a girl named Hikari Wanda dance freely and without hesitation. Her fearless approach to dancing motivates him to step outside his comfort zone and join the school's dance club.

History[]

The first compiled volume of Wandance was released by Kodansha on June 21, 2019, and collected the early chapters of the series. The manga continued to gain traction and was nominated for the 13th Manga Taishō (Cartoon Grand Prize) in 2020, highlighting its critical recognition.

The English-language release was licensed by Kodansha USA, with the first volume published on November 23, 2021. As of 2025, the series spans over 13 volumes, with ongoing serialization. While the character designs have subtly evolved over time to reflect Coffee's growing comfort with anatomy and motion, the setting—a high school dance environment—and core themes of expression, identity, and growth have remained consistent throughout.
