Iori Itsukushima (
Appearance[]
Iori is of average height and has black curtain styled hair with hazel eyes. At school, he wears Ichirin High's uniform - white shirt and a pair of dark pants.
While dancing, he always wears his signature black hoodie with white word "pulse" written on, white t-shirt underneath, strap jogger pants and black shoes.
In manga volume cover, he has green eyes (volume 4).
Personality[]
Iori has an easy-going personality, but he takes dancing very seriously and has very strong convictions which may come off as hard-headed or stubborn to some people. He views dancing as a way of life, and he would never bend his opinions and values on dancing, which has resulted in him having strained relationships with other members of the dance club, especially the second-year members, as well as with Gaku.
Despite his confidence in dancing and during battles, he is introverted in social situations and prefers to be alone. He likes to dance with no constraints, which is the main reason why he dislikes routines and avoids taking part in group activities and contests. In spite of his individualistic nature, the treatment he gets from the club members does bother him, and he has been trying to get more involved with club activities, especially in recent chapters, after becoming a candidate for club president.
He enjoys having someone who shares his thoughts on dancing, which is why he formed a close bond with Kaboku, especially since the two are the only male members in the club who both love freestyling.

- Iori's surname contains kanji for "stern/severe" (
厳 itsuku) and "island" (島 shima), and his first name contains "Italy" (伊 i) and "yield/submit/break" (折 ori). - Coffee-sensei finds Iori especially easy to write because he's the type to say bold things.
